baby, it’s gonna be cold outside

{katelyn ruffle cardigan via – where else? – j.crew}

now that we are officially into october, the farmer’s almanac long range weather forecast for november 2010 is up! after much anticipation, i mustered up the courage to take a little peek-see at the 11/25-30 date range and it reads …

rain and snow, then sunny, cold.

ok, not terrible. i’ll pray for sunny and cold. the almanac also notes mid to late november as 2010’s snowiest season, but precipitation is estimated to be almost 2.5″ less than normal with average temperatures (do i sound like the weatherman?!) so all in all that’s manageable. the weather is the one thing i cannot control so this is all you’ll hear me say on the subject. in the words of stevie, “whatever happens, we’ll have fun!” now in the meantime, i might be searching for something a teensy bit warmer than this cute little cardi i scooped up!

something blue

{monogramming service via j.crew}

my beautiful baby sister got me the sweetest something blue. it’s  a grosgrain ribbon with my monogram and wedding date to sew into my wedding gown (obviously not an exact replica up above but you get the idea). love!

so i have officially procured:

something old: my great grandmother’s crystal rosary
something new: my wedding gown
something blue: the monogrammed ribbon

i still need something borrowed and i hope you are all on the lookout for a shiny penny for my shoe!

thursday purseday?

i heard a rumor from angela at swatchbook weddings that today is the first of many thursday pursedays (pairs nicely with tuesday shoesday and wedding wednesday, i think!). in honor of such a momentous occasion, i thought i would share a sneak peek at one of my most favorite wedding day accessories, the j.crew crushed glitter minaudiere.

ostentatious? yes.
fun? you bet.
and glam? uh huh.

happy thursday purseday!

tuesday shoesday: m of h

{raffia rose suede peep toes via j.crew}

tuesday shoesday is all the range among wedding bloggers so i thought i would take a note from the industry experts and put up a perfect pair all my own! these are the pretty pumps that will be donning the dancing feet of my lovely little sister, bean. we are loving the blush rosette, neutral color, and not-too-daunting heel.

all that glitters

first off, thanks for all of the love on my reinvigorated dress search! i received oodles of concerned messages, calls, and emails which was really sweet. i promise things are under control and i won’t be walking down the aisle in my skivvies : ) so while the hunt continues, let it be known that i am still prowling for accessories (putting the cart before the horse you say? yes, definitely.) and totally ga-ga over these glam and glittery goodies!

i need that bracelet. and these sky-high stilettos would require steve to grow six inches (love you!) and would most likely be murder on my feet within 15 minutes. but — sigh — aren’t they beauties?!

a small dress dilemma

{a bouquet and a ‘brella on the beach via brenda’s wedding blog}

i’ve come to grips with the fact that my day-of-dress selection may not be as final as i would have liked to believe. as i regroup and get into the mindset to keep looking (err start over), here a few pretty gowns from around the blogosphere this week:

a bold bride in buttercup yellow! and i love it.

i’m obsessed with the degas-inspired dress #3.

this surprising number from none other than david’s bridal. (looks so j. crew, coulda fooled me!)

happy weekend!
